The Elixir of Love
This Autumn, English Touring Opera is taking audiences on a journey of romance, comedy, and sparkling melody with a brand-new production of Donizetti’s The Elixir of Love. Directed by Martin Constantine and designed by April Dalton, this vibrant staging will be conducted by Alice Farnham, one of the UK’s most exciting and inspiring conductors.
The Tour
Running from 27 September to 22 November 2025, the production will visit theatres across the country, including Hackney Empire, Belgrade Theatre Coventry, Darlington Hippodrome, Buxton Opera House, Malvern Festival Theatre, Theatre Royal Bath, Saffron Hall, and Queen’s Theatre Barnstaple.
The cast features Natasha Page as Adina, Tamsanqa Tylor Lamani as Nemorino, Timothy Nelson as Belcore, Emyr Wyn Jones as Dulcamara, and Rosie Lomas as Gianetta. Performed in English with surtitles, the show is the perfect introduction to opera as well as a treat for seasoned fans.
Meet Alice Farnham
Alice Farnham has been making waves in the world of classical music and opera. Short-listed for the Royal Philharmonic Society Conductor Award in 2024, she’s been recognised by both Classic FM and BBC Woman’s Hour as one of the most influential women on the podium today.
Her career has taken her from the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, to the Mariinsky Theatre in St Petersburg, as well as engagements with the BBC Concert Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland, and the Royal Scottish National Orchestra. She also has a rich background in ballet, working with the Royal Ballet, Birmingham Royal Ballet, and English National Ballet, among many others.
Passionate about the next generation, Alice has directed productions with Welsh National Youth Opera and pioneered initiatives to support women conductors, including co-founding Women Conductors with the Royal Philharmonic Society. She is also the author of In Good Hands: The Making of a Modern Conductor, published in 2023.

With its mix of beautiful music, playful humour, and heartfelt romance, The Elixir of Love is always an audience favourite.
